Contradictory Rhyming Verses to Guide You Into Confusion
64Proverbs and quotes are useful
in telling us what to do
but choosing exactly the right one
is not always easy for you.
FAST OR SLOW?:
He who hesitates is lost, but look before you leap
Remember to strike when the iron is hot.
Which proverb should we keep?
Slow and steady wins the race.
Remember, also, haste makes waste.
Should you quit while you're ahead?
Perhaps you should've stayed in bed.
PATIENCE:
Good things come to those who wait,
so we have been told.
Make haste slowly, don't be late,
too late smart, and too soon old.
PATH:
Always take the road less traveled
(whether it be paved or graveled ),
or straight and narrow, tried and true ,
Might also be the best for you.
POSTURE:
Nose to the grindstone, eye on the ball,
A Stiff upper lip, mind open and all,
Remember to keep on walking tall,
But pride often comes before a fall.
TRUTH:
Though Silence is golden, you should Speak your mind.
The truth often hurts and is not always kind,
So tell always the truth, though it makes someone cry,
Speak only the truth, but let sleeping dogs lie.
TIME:
Time or tide does not wait, it flies when you're having fun.
Never put off for tomorrow... Make hay while it's still in the sun.
Patience is a virtue but time is of the essence.
There's No time like the present except if you Marry in haste, you repent at leisure. So stop and smell the roses . You are what you eat. Save for a rainy day and Seize the day because Today is the first day of the rest of your life and.. there's nothing new ...about old sayings.

That was great and so witty. I really enjoyed this creative hub.
This is just what I was in the mood for tonight. You very cleverly wove these old sayings into a a delightful verse.
Voted up and interesting Rochelle. Very interesting food for thought. A very fun article:) Take care.
That's the thing with proverbs, Rochelle. They can be fashioned to illustrate almost any old concept available. This was very clever. Thank you, my dear. I wrote a hub some time ago about proverbs, too: "Popular Proverbs Interpreted." Take a look if you wish.
all these proverbs it's so confusing.
and mixing them up is sometimes amusing.
which proverb is right is so hard to intuit.
i'll just burn that bridge when i get to it.
Beautiful collection and I think veyr true.
The thing about proverbs is that there's always one to support your positions and to contradict it. Voting this Up and Interesting.

Clever combination of familiar sayings! My aging mother says, almost daily, "Too soon old and too late smart." I wonder what she would say if I responded, "good things come to those who wait." Might inspire an interesting conversation! Thanks for the humorous hub.
